SOME UPDATES

They are done tiling the master bath...

 I painted the mirror for the entryway...

{I've decided not to use the settee anymore,  it's too big for the space}

and I painted the walls white.
{The door is getting painted a high gloss black}

Projects are coming along well!

Have a great weekend!

I'M DONE PAINTING THE COFFEE TABLE!

Remember my Restore coffee table find?

I finally finished painting it and is now sitting in our family room...

It took me 3 days to finish.
First, I lightly sanded and applied one coat of primer.
{I used Zinsser Bulls eye 1-2-3 primer}

Then I used 2 coats of Rustoleum protective enamel oil-based paint in gloss black.
{Thanks Bethany!}

{ I waited 24 hours in between coats}

  I love how it turned out!

Don't you?

DENY DESIGNS SHOWER CURTAINS

While searching for a shower curtain for the kids' bathroom,  I came across DENY designs.
I think a pop of color against the white subway tiles would be nice and fun for the kids.

Here are my favorites...

Bird in Flowers

All shower curtains are by a Venezuelan artist, Valentina Ramos.

I think I like Aaron the best!  Do you have a favorite?

KIDS' BATHROOM UPDATE

They finished tiling the shower surround!
The room looks so much bigger now that the soffit is gone!

{I am loving the shampoo alcove}

The question now is do I use white or light gray grout?

MASTER BATHROOM REDESIGN

I've mentioned that we are remodeling our master bath (together with the entryway and kids' bath)

Here's the plan for the master bath...

Here's what it looked like when we first saw the house...

{Yikes! And very small!}

They started tiling the kids' bath.  Hopefully I'll be able to share some photos soon!

ANOTHER SCORE!

While browsing through craigslist the other day,  I found this...

{lucite and brass floor lamp}

Back-story:
The listing was for "4.5Ft NEW gold colored lamp".  The seller's image was not great so I emailed him...

Me:  Is the floor lamp brass and acrylic?
Seller:  Yes, it is!
Me:  {getting excited}  Is it in good working condition?  I'd like to purchase it if it is.
Seller:  This lamp has never been used.  I took it out of the box to take a picture
Me:  When is a good time to pick it up?
Seller:  Tomorrow, I'll bring it to work so it's nearer for you.
Me:  Great, thanks!

 I googled "brass and lucite floor lamp" and look what I found...

lobel modern - brass finial

I like mine better- lucite finial

So, pick up day:
Me:  Is it vintage but never been used then?
Seller:  It came from my Aunt. I took it out of the box myself.
The only thing I noticed is this small stain, I'm not sure what it is

Me: ok
Seller:  I'm not selling it to get rich but I just want to be fair.  I'll take $5 off.
Me:  (feeling guilty now) Ok, thanks!

I'm not sure how much lobel modern sold theirs but I bet my bottom dollar it wasn't
$20!  SCORE!
